IN THIS LESSON

Hi, and welcome to From Hurt to Healed. I’m so glad you’re here.

This first session is called “The Need for Healing.” Before we talk about healing, we need to recognize why it’s even necessary. The truth is, all of us carry wounds. Some are obvious, and some are hidden deep inside. They may come from painful experiences, broken relationships, or even lies we’ve believed about ourselves for years.

But here’s the good news: God sees every wound. He doesn’t dismiss our pain or tell us to “just get over it.” Instead, He draws near. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

In this session, we’ll take about 20 minutes together to explore three things:

  1. Recognizing brokenness – becoming honest about where we’ve been hurt.

  2. Hearing God’s truth – what the Bible says about His heart for the wounded.

  3. Personal reflection – beginning to open up those hidden places so God can bring healing.

This is not about shame or guilt. It’s about hope. You don’t have to stay stuck in the pain of the past. God promises in Psalm 147:3, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

So, here’s what I want you to do:
Take a deep breath. Give yourself permission to slow down and be honest with God in this space. As you go through today’s activities, ask Him: “Lord, where do I need healing? What places in me are still hurting?”

By the end of this session, you’ll have a clearer picture of where you’ve been wounded—and an even clearer picture of God’s heart to heal you.

Let’s begin.
